Dana Uproar
Dana White Bullish On Anderson Silva v George St. Pierre in Toronto
by Dann Stupp.
Dana Whit, President of the UFC reported that he wants to have a super fight between Anderson Silva, the current UFC middle weight champion versus George St. Pierre, the current welterweight champion. Dana has been trying to make this fight happen for months now, but after this past weekends UFC event he is not sure if he wants this fight to happen now.
Dana’s reasons for not wanting this fight are because Anderson Silva had a poor performance victory over his opponent. Dana says now Anderson must win his next fight impressively in order to fight the welterweight champ. However he also said St. Pierre must win his next opponent as ell.
Dan Stupp reported that Dana White feels that Anderson Silva is a much better fighter than his performance showed. HE also feels that it wasn’t his entire fault the fight was boring.
"I don't think that opponents don't want to engage him," White said. "I think they have a game plan when they go in there, and they start getting kicked and hit. We've seen what this guy does with a kick and punch. Guys spin around when he leg kicks them. He's powerful. He's fast. He's elusive. He has all the tools. When he lets them go, people fall down. ... Game plans change quickly,” said Dana White.
I can’t stand Dana White because he wants to make his champions fight each other. It doesn’t make since to me because it will lose credibility for the losing champion. Dana white is an aggressive businessman who often bully’s his employee. Dana needs to have more respect for his fighters and appreciate the fact that if it wasn’t for them fighting he would be nowhere in life.

Stikeforce Re-Cap
Last night was a night to be put into the record books! Strikeforce had a night full of fights that were not just entertaining, but spectacular. It was a night full of non stop entertainment. Every fight was either stopped by the referee or someone suffered a KO.
Scott Smith KO Benji Raddach in the third round with only a minute left. It was crazy. Cyborg Santos delivered a third round TKO over Japanese fighter Gomi. Gilbert Melendez destroyed his competition with a first round KO and Nick Diaz gave the legend, Shamrock, a brutal second round TKO.
Strikeforce has set the bar for their future events. I can't wait to see their next card. I am instantly a fan of this organization and the UFC now has some legitimate competition!

Strikeforce tonight.
Tonight just may be the most exciting night in Strikeforce's history. Scott Coker, the owner of Strikeforce, has put together an incredible card. The card features a main event fight between Frank Shamrock and Nick Diaz. this fight is a crazy fight because they are in different weight classes, but will meet at a catch weight of 177lbs. this will be a great fight for jui-jitsu fans. There is also a women fight featuring Christine Cyborg Santos who is a beast. If this sport wasn't regulated I would be forced to believe she is really a man. The other fight I am really excited about is Scott Smith vs. Dustin Hazelton. This will end in a KO. I can't wait.
The fight takes place tonight, April 11 at the San Jose Sharks arena. It will also air on Showtime at 7p.m. Enjoy!

New MMA gym opens in Los Gatos
Finally,a new mma facility in the south bay. Alexander Oxendine, a 25 year mix martial arts vet has opened a new mma studio in Los Gatos, CA. Alexander trained with B.J. Penn, who is the lightweight champion for the UFC, and Randy Couture, a mma legend, throughout his career. Alexander teaches not only mma, but also cardio classes. This is a great chance for "newbies" to join a team that just opened on March 14th.
I know for sure I am going to check out the classes because I am looking for a gym and I dont want to pay more than $100 a month. Every other gym in San Jose is a minimum $150. Also this gym would be great for me to ease my way back into the sport. I wouldn't be as intimidated because most people will be new.
Check out the gym: Los Gatos MMA located on 15445 Los Gatos Blvd behind McDonalds inside Anastasia's club fit.Hope to see you there.

MMA Leader dies in car crash

On March 12, Charles Lewis Jr., a.k.a. "Mask" in the mma world died in a car crash. CHP officer said he saw two cars racing near Manhattan beach in L.A. in the late night. Mask was driving a Ferrari and had a 23 yr. old lady in the car with him. The other car also had two people in it. Apparently the other car driving lost control and hit Mask's Ferrari causing him to hit a poll which split the Ferrari in half. The 23 yr. old was ejected and only suffered minor injuries. However, Mask was trapped in the car and died on impact. The other driver tried to flee the scene but was later apprehended and is now facing 19 yrs. in prison for a variety of charges. His passenger was not hurt nor went to jail.
Mask is best known for his crazy character he portrays on his TV show, Tapout. Mask and his crew would go around looking for the next big star that they could promote. He was into helping as many people as he could. Mask created Tapout clothing in 1997, in the trunk of his car. He would go to small shows and sell his clothes. He started his clothing line with a few thousand dollars and made around $30,000 his first year. Now 12 years later his company grossed 100,000,000 dollars and is said to be worth around 500,000,000 dollars. Mask will be missed and he touch tons of peoples life, positively.

UFC 96

Last night was a night to remember! In the main event of the night Rampage defeats Jardine in a tough battle between two high ranked competitors. Rampage was just too much for Jardine in all aspects of the game. Rampage beats jardine by unanimous decision. Now Rampage fights the light heavyweight champ, Rashad Evans. This fight will take place in the next few months and will most definitley be a fight for the ages!
Matt Hammil threw a viscious left round house kick to UFC newcomer, ending his night quick. Matt Hammil earned K.O. of the night, deservingly so. Kendal Grove is also back on the winning track by defeating Jason Day via K.O. in the first round. Also Branden Vera earned a TKO stoppage via leg kicks, which also put him back on the winning tracks.
UFC 96 may not have been too hyped up because there was no championship fights nor were there any super star names, besides rampage, but the night will not be forgotten. Tons of action and great fights across the board. UFC puts together another stunning show!

UFC Fight Night 17

The co-main event is between UFC reality star Mac Danzig vs. Josh Neer. Mac Danzig is a phenomenal wrestler with great jui-jitsu skills. His opponent Josh Neer is a hard hitting lightweight, nick named the "Dentist" because he has been know to knock out his opponent's teeth. This fight will be exciting and full of suspense, so don't blink!
The other two fight that will air on the nights main card will include San Jose's own Cain Velasquez who takes on Denis Stojnic. This fight will be quick! Two heavy handed fighters with something to prove. Should be fireworks. In the last televised card Anthony Johnson, who is a San Jose resident as well, takes on Luigi Fioravanti. Luigi is an ex-Marine with exceptional jui-jitsu. If Anthony can keep this fight on his feet he should be able to KO Luigi, but if Luigi takes Anthony to the ground, then it will be lights out for Anthony.
UFC Fight Night 17 starts at 7:00 p.m. live on Spike TV.
